Scenario: A virus has infected your computer. You restart only to find that you can no longer logon to windows. Logging into Safe Mode does not work. The first thing you do is panic. You think, I lost everything!!!!
When windows prepares to start, it is looking in the registry for certain files to get you logged on to the desktop. Something running on start-up is preventing you from gaining access to your desktop. When this happens to the computer, sometimes you can edit the windows registry and remove what ever is preventing Windows from starting. But you can not access the Windows registry because you can not log on to Windows.
As I was searching for answers, I found a few programs to help with editing the registry. There is Ultimate Boot CD or Recovery Console where you can try a system restore. Neither of these programs worked. This particular computer was running SATA RAID drives and the RAID Controller would not install properly. So, when I tried to boot with these programs I could not get the Drives to be recognized. After more searching I came across this program “PCREGEDIT”. I downloaded this program and burned the ISO image to a CD. When I booted from this CD I did not have to preinstall the RAID controller for the drives. It took me to the registry with ease and I was able to remove the problem start up item (s) from the registry. I saved the changes to the registry, rebooted and I was back in business. I was very happy to see the desktop once again.
As always, when editing the windows registry you do so at your own risk. Any mistakes and you can make your computer unusable. If you are comfortable with editing the Windows Registry you can find PC Regedit program by clicking here.

What to choose.
ie6 does not rendered websites very well.
ie7 well not time to really know what is does, only to be alerted that ie8 is available.
AOL 9.1 will not run correctly unless you have ie8 installed.
After upgrading from ie6,ie7 to ie8 gmail does not work properly. Ended up having to revert back.
too much too fast is what I say.
